Love Songs

"O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the secret place of the steep pathway, Let me see your form, Let me hear your voice ; For your voice is sweet, And your form is lovely." Song of Solomon 2:14

As funny as it sounds, my husband and I are now starting to listen to love songs. I really can't think of why we never listened to them before. I guess, I pretty much consider it on the worldly side and so just didn't want to listen to it being afraid that it would cause me to stumble. But, I now see that it's nothing wrong with listening to certain kinds of love songs.

Now, I think there is a difference between love songs. I think some songs can be a bit TOO DETAILED in their lyrics. Which gives me ways to pick and choose what kind of love songs to listen to. For examples: I don't need to hear sounds that they're suppose to be making in the bedroom, I don't like to hear lyrics where they just make body parts sound dirty, and I don't like to hear lyrics that encourages affairs or any other type of unfaithfulness or disrespect in a relationship. So, I'm not talking about those supposedly "love songs". I'm talking about love songs that expresses how one feels about their mate.

I've come to love various artists who do a great job (in my opinion) in expressing how I feel about my husband or how my husband feels about me. Listening to love songs is helping my marriage to Matt in many ways. It helps me to keep my mind on him throughout the day (other than the Lord of course) and it keeps the fire burning as I await his return home. Because I confess, after a long day with the kids, when he comes through the door, I'm mainly glad that I'll finally have some help! LOL When I'm sure he'd like to know that I'm glad to see him other than the fact that he can now help watch his kids. I'm sure he'd like to see that sparkle in my eyes that shows I'm glad to see his handsome face and that I still think he's fine EVEN if the kids keep me busy all day. So, listening to love songs has become a new thing added to our marriage to help keep the fire burning. Check out some love songs if you haven't got a couple of selections at home.

Thank You Lord for artists who use their talents to help me to learn more ways to think of how much You've blessed me to be married to Matthew. In Your name, Amen.
