A New Year

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
Psalm 46:10

I'm so thankful for new things. I love it whenever there's a new day, a new week, and especially a NEW YEAR! I'm so thankful to start another year. It's like it's a time for CHANGE. A time to change eating habits, spiritual habits, parenting, & martial habits, just pure CHANGE!! LOL

The ending of this past year was (I have to admit) a bit hard. No need for details, but it was just hard. I believe that I allowed the struggle to make me sink under water sort of speaking. I felt like Peter walking on the water to Jesus and when he started looking at the water and the waves, he started to sink (Matthew 14:28 - 31). But, instead of me hearing the Savior's voice and kept walking, I think I started to drown, but PRAISE GOD, He came and PICKED ME UP!! Glory to God. The Lord knew the right people to have in my life to listen to me and just keep praying me through it. I could feel their prayers and I'm so thankful for them.

Our family was able to attend our FIRST watch night service since we've been living here in North Carolina. As I was there, I could just see God's sovereign hand in getting us there. He took one of my dearest "comforts" away from my church and brought them to the church where we had worshiped. I needed to be reminded of the God I serve in a way that I haven't heard in a while. I needed to be reminded of the "basic" spiritual songs & phrases. Such as, "God is good all of the time", "I've got a testimony!", or the good old classic "I love to praise His name." I needed to just have a nice HAND CLAPPING and FOOT STOMPING time in the Lord. LOL

Then the message was just plan and clear for me to hear. I needed to be reminded that no matter what I'm going through or will go through this year, I need to just BE STILL AND KNOW that He is GOD!

Dear Lord,
May I go into this new year trusting You with every parenting issue, strength to love my husband and kids, and faith to build THOSE relationships that YOU will bring into my life. Please keep me from wanting/desiring what's not for me. Help me to focus on what REALLY matters. Such as loving and caring for my home, caring and ministering to the lost, and building up the saints. In Your name, Amen.
